Robert Red-Baer who once worked for Toshiro Mifune was the producer, writer, and director of
THE RED HEART FOLLIES, a group that performed short original plays at ANNA BANANA'S in Honolulu back in 1973 and 1974. His original dramas (some of them have won prizes) have also been produced outside of THE RED HEART FOLLIES at various places in Hawaii. At one time, his only play that wasn't produced, "Unless They Melt to Butter" was not only considered for production by The Actors Theatre of Louisville, but also considered for a New York production.  The scripts of these original plays have been reproduced in full on this site and are now available for royalty free production by theater groups and other interested parties, regardless if the group is profit or non-profit.  Comments and/or pictures on recent productions in the U.S.A., Canada and the U.K. can be found on Comments/Requests to Robert.  In connection with Mifune, there is now Akira Kurosawa's Movie Corner.  Here you can find the posters and short descriptions of Akira Kurosawa's thirty films.

Besides his plays, Robert Red-Baer has also received many awards for his original video works.  Although most of these works are in Japanese, information about them is available both in Japanese and English.  He has also written short stories, of which one was fairly successful, a magazine article (Videomaker) on how to win video contests, and two popular English textbooks for Japanese college students.

Here, you can also find out how to rid your home of flies without killing them, how not to waste a worry and how to vend stadium hot-dogs-- ALL THE TRADE SECRETS!!!  You can also see pictures of Toshiro Mifune's little known acting school-- with Robert in some of them.

When Construction is finished you might want to visit Robert and his students in his office and on the campus of Edogawa University, where he is now an associate professor in the Mass Communication Department.   And most recently Robert has been appearing in a long series of Nationally (Japan) televised commerials.  You can find storyboards of the commercials and links to view them at the NOVA TV commercials page.
